DCES administers this NASA-funded program that supports the recruitment and retention of under-represented students (African American, American Indian, Hispanic American, Puerto Rican or Mexican American) at selected institutions.

The goal of the program is to increase the number of students who graduate with engineering/science degrees and become employed as NASA engineers or continue in graduate school.

The National Aeronautical and Space Administration Undergraduate Research Scholars Program is designed to increase the number of underrepresented students to address the severe shortage of minority undergraduate level researchers in the fields of engineering and science.
